Unique & collectible Spode Christmas Tree pattern cheese knife in its original red presentation box. This specific piece features a fascinating hybrid production timeline. The box has the classic 1970s Spode typography & red layout, the blade is a high-quality vintage component contracted from the historic George Butler & Co. cutlers in Sheffield, England. The blade stamp includes the traditional Butler (ART) trademark & the vintage Non-Stain marking (an early British commercial term for stainless steel) heavily used by the manufacturer from the 1920s to the early 1950s. Tableware companies often kept stocks of premium, imported contracted steel blades to assemble their sets across many decades, making this crossover a rare treat for collectors! Excellent pre-owned vintage condition. The ceramic handle is bright & intact. The stamped metal blade shows excellent preservation. Please look closely at all photos for exact condition.
