Description
Up for auction is a beautiful, antique German beer stein, likely from the late 19th or early 20th century. The body is high-quality glazed ceramic with a detailed transfer print of a traditional German figure with a pipe and scrollwork, featuring the German text Alles muß sein (All must be). It is topped with an ornate pewter lid and an eye-catching, multifaceted red crystal finial, the pewter lid features a brilliant gemstone-like accent that catches the light beautifully. This sparkling red stone adds a striking and unique decorative touch to the traditional lidded design. The ceramic body of this half-liter stein stands roughly 6.5 inches tall to the top of the pewter rim, and about 8 inches tall overall to the tip of that red crystal finial. The base diameter is approximately 4 inches. The base is marked - 1/2 L, indicating its half-liter capacity. The stein is in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. The pewter lid and hinge are solid and functional. Please examine the photos carefully as they are part of the description.
