Description
Set of mid century book ends. Marked Newport, Ky. Please see all photos for condition and measurements. The inscription Newport Ky is a critical piece of information. It confirms that these bookends are local regional pieces from Northern Kentucky, a region deeply tied to historic horse racing tracks like Latonia Race Track (which operated in nearby Covington/Latonia from 1883 to 1939).Many of these cast metal pieces were manufactured by regional mid-century foundries or distributed as premium commemorative souvenirs for Kentucky derby and racing enthusiasts.
