To faithfully amplify complex musical signal waveforms, a simple structure has been realized, featuring an MC-compatible straight high-gain equalizer and a 2-amplifier configuration consisting only of the power section. Furthermore, the tone control circuit employs Direct Tone.
Direct Tone is a system that does not use a tone amplifier and is composed solely of passive elements with minimal impact on sound quality, enabling high-quality sound even without tone defeat.

It is equipped with a Softness circuit that controls resolution to make listening easier when connected to extremely low-grade program sources or equipment such as very low-quality cartridges or speaker systems.

To prevent external vibrations, a Super Stabilizer is provided as a special structural reinforcement material.

The power amplifier section utilizes ONKYO's proprietary Linear Switching method, which suppresses crossover distortion by improving circuit linearity without varying bias. While the circuit operates in Class B, it achieves sound quality close to Class A.
Additionally, the use of High fT power transistors suppresses the effects of switching distortion.
